Advises individuals and families regarding the creation, structure, and operation of wealth transfer vehicles, including trusts, family-owned and closely-held business entities (LLCs, LLLPs, etc.), family offices, and charitable entities (including private foundations, private operating foundation, donor-advised funds, etc.).
Advises individuals and families regarding the structure of gifts, sales, and other advanced planning techniques (e.g., GRATs, CLATs/CRUTs, sales to grantor trusts, QPRTs, net gifts, leveraged transfers, etc.) that minimize gift, estate, generation-skipping transfer (GST), and income taxes.
Advises individuals and families with respect to family business succession planning across generations, including the implementation of buy/sell agreements, the use of insurance, and minimizing the tax impact of ownership succession.
Advise regarding the administration of decedents’ estates (including probate matters, asset transfers, and post-mortem estate planning (including disclaimers) for the surviving spouse and living descendants).
Advises Trustees regarding their fiduciary rights, duties, and responsibilities when administering trusts.
Advises individuals on pre- and post-nuptial agreements.
Represents clients in trust and estate disputes and litigation. Represents clients before the IRS with respect to gift, estate, and income tax audits, appeals, and litigation.
