DEBORAH SHINBEIN HOWITT TO PRESENT ON DATA PRIVACY AT WORLD TRADE DAY AND ROCKY MOUNTAIN INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE

Denver, Colorado (May 6, 2016)- Lewis, Bess, Williams & Weese director Deborah Howitt Shinbein will present on data privacy and cyber security legal issues at two upcoming conferences.

At the 14th Annual Rocky Mountain Intellectual Property & Technology Institute, which will be held on June 2 and 3, 2016 in Westminster, Colorado, Deborah will co-present on “2016 Privacy and Data Security Updates, Trends & Tips.”  This topic will include significant litigation, enforcement actions, and settlements; recent legal and regulatory developments, as well as practical advice for data security preparedness and incident response.   Her presentation will be held on June 2 at 1:20.     

In addition, on May 19, 2016, Deborah will participate in a panel on “Cybersecurity and the Trans Pacific Partnership” at the 43rd Annual World Trade Day conference.  The event, presented by World Trade Center, Denver, is the premier international business event in the Rocky Mountain Region. The conference typically convenes 500+ members of the international business community to focus on timely topics and/or particular regions.  Her presentation will be at 10:45 on May 19, at the Infinity Park Event Center.

Ms. Howitt specializes in data privacy/security, internet, technology and media law.  In her data privacy practice, she helps clients in various industries develop programs to comply with the rapidly-changing laws and regulations governing data privacy and security, including data collection, secure data storage/transmission, data sharing/use, and international data transfers.  She also handles numerous intellectual property transactions, such as licensing, strategic alliances, technology development, digital marketing, copyrights, trademarks, contests, and various commercial agreements.
